Header Length

Got a cracked manifold so while it's off I was going to replace them with headers. Doing some shopping and I find long and shorty headers listed. What are the advantages/drawbacks of each?

Their just like OEM headers, shortys wont give any sound, or performance increase. Only Longtube headers will.

Old school thoughts small block with auto small long tube, small block with manual small tube short tube, big block auto big long tube, big block manual big short tube. That is the way we installed them in the old days there has been alot of talk about headers really not making much difference on late model engines. Hope this helps.
