This is for a friend of mine. I have no idea what it could be.

 

I have an ’03 GMC Yukon SLT. The tachometer is broken, it’s been reading crazy for several months now. The other gages seem to be working though. The main problem I’m having is the engine dieing on me. This usually happens before I hit 20mph. I noticed the battery light indicator on the dash flash on and off for a few seconds last week. I took it over to O’reileys last night and had them bring out their battery test meter, and the guy told me the battery was okay. He had me start it up and put the test thingy back on the batt. and said that it looked like something was drawing an abnormal amount of power from the battery. He said that the test thing he was using told him that it wasn’t the alternator…..any ideas what it would be? The check engine light has been on for a couple of weeks now.

 

 

Any thoughts?
