Stock Head Unit Problem

Hey I have an 07 Silverado and the stock head unit has been giving me a lot of problems lately. I looked around and couldn't find anyone with a similar problem. After listening to the radio or playing a cd for about 5 minutes the speakers make a wird noise and then switches over to aux. I'll switch it back to whatever I'm listening to and after about 30 seconds it switches back to aux. After that it wont even let me switch back at all. Other times it wont even read a cd at all and constantly switches back and forth between the radio and aux until its turned off completely.

 

So has anyone heard of a problem like this or have any suggestions or do you think I just got a bad head unit?

I'd be taking it back to the dealership if you're under warranty still.
