Firestone Destination A/t

Recommended Posts

Ive been tire shopping for a while and I think ive finally found some that I like within my price range.

Normally, I wouldnt even consider Firestone, but due to the Tirerack reviews, they are at the top of my list.

Ill call my local tire place and see what price exactly I can get them for. Probably a little cheaper than the Kumho Road Ventures ($619)

And the size has to be 285/70-17.

So does anybody know about these tires or want to reccomend a different one?

Thanks!

several of my friends have the a/t's .. and love m .. i have the LE's ... and have no complaints at all with them ... would have gone with the a/t's .. but mine is 90% on road ...

Great wet weather traction ... and depending on your dedication to rotation and tire pressure ... should last a decent amount as well ...

I have a set on my Jeep. Best tires I ever had on it. Buy 'em again in a minute.

I'd order them from TireRack... much cheaper than a Firestone store.

Thanks, I had wondered if they would be good enough in wet conditions, and how they will wear.

Good pic of the Jeep, Jim.

Thanks. That old Jeep is part of the family. I really do like those Firestones on it.

I've got about 5k on mine now. Great tires, quiet, great wet weather traction, and we've had light snow the last few weeks, (2-3 inches at most) and I'm really impressed...

And, Mount the white letters in, and you have black walls, not bad looking at all...

I checked prices and locally, I can get them for $630.

Seems like a fair deal to me. :D

You know I didnt get these tires cause they didnt look like they would be as aggressive as BFG's But all the ratings for the destinations were a little better than the BFG's! I bought mine used so I think that I will buy those Destinations next time around! I had some firestone tires on my truck before I got the bfg's and they last my a long time! When the rear tires were 90% worn I still dragged my brothers Titan in the mun when he had his brake on!

That price isn't bad at all. You'd spend $600.00 getting them from TireRack. Make sure you get the 285/70TR17 and not the "D" rated version or the ride will suffer quite a bit... Unless you need the "D" rating, that is.

The Jeep tires also have about 5K on them but it is light weight compared to a truck. No wear at all as of yet and great in the rain. We don't get ice or snow here.

Happy motoring.

Thanks!

Where I live, there is NEVER any ice or snow. Never seen snow where I live. So snow performance doesnt matter anyways.

I find myself being drawn to mud a little more lately. I have to use 4wd most days of the week just to get out of the slippery wet grass/slick thin mud.

My Goodyears SUCK in mud, its not even funny.

They still have 1/2 tread.

Just hoping the Firestones wil do marginally better, as I dont need a full-on Mud Terrain...
