Mirror Question

Hello, I'm fairly new here. I have a 2007 nbs silverado 1lt. I have read in some posts that a couple of you have installed the dl3 mirrors w/signal pwr fold and so on. I know the signals work by just plugging in, but does the dimming feature on the driver side also work. I am not worried about the folding and everything else, if that works great if not oh well. I had a 2005 Z71 and it had the dl3 mirrors and I liked the dimming feature, never really used the other options. I have also read the GM bulletin for the mirrors on the door modules. Just curious. Thanks for any input.

If memory serves me correctly, that electrochromatic feature has to be built into the glass and it uses a sensor, but I could be wrong in the operation.........

Yeah the driver side mirror is controlled by the inside mirror.

I assume you would need the appropriate rearview mirror also, as that's where the sensor is located correct?

sensor is on the inside rear view mirror......not sure about the wiring though.....

I have the dimming inside mirror so at least I have that .
