I thought it was high time i cleaned out my 07 seirra but am having a heck of a time getting the dust and dirt off the interior. I am in construction so even though i am very carefull i still get it dirty. What is going to get in the "pores" of this rough interior plastis that some dipstick thought was a good idea? My 05 cleans up very easy compared to the new one.

granted, i am not on construction sites daily :( ... but, I use a 2 tier approach.

I get a regular old shop towel soaked in warm water, and go over it and get the big s___ off.

Then, I got a spray can of car detailer's interior vynil/carpet cleaner, and follow the directions on the can. I have the platinum interior, which gets dirtier than most colors.

Also, a soft bristled, long handled brush works GREAT with the canned foam vinyl cleaner.

EDIT: hope this helps a little..... i agree with your pore statement. But, in defense, it DOES clean up pretty good when I invest a little time. Detailer guy at the dealer said that warm water and a towel will get 90% of it 90% of the time. SO far, I can't call him a liar.

Next time you're at the dealer, ask to talk to the detailer/prep guy.... he can give you loads of great tips for all kinds of wierd stains... that's where i got the brush/vynil cleaner idea from...

i use armorall clear wipes or leather wipes on interior plastic. on a more daily basis i have a small california mini duster in my console i use a lot to keep the dust off. works awesome, more you use it better it works. grabs a lot of dust from those new interiors!

I use a soapy rag to clean followed by a clean wet rag to get the soap off. Then I follow up with 303 Protectant.

I don't have a NBS but a foaming cleaner that you spray on and will "lift" the dirt off and then you can wipe it off with warm water on a towel, I'm guessing microfiber would be your worst enemy for once in this situation, a long fiber cloth would work best...
