The drivers side door power lock actuator would periodically work, so I bought a replacement. No big deal.

After removing the faulty actuator from the door, I noticed the new one was missing a plug. id like to figure out what the plug does and if I need to short the wires connecting to it or just leave it hang inside.

It looked to be some sort of switch it has a small plastic rod connected to the locking mechanism.

good ;uck finding an answer ,we deal with factory parts not aftermarket crap, the money you have saved has cost you the difference in figuring out what is wrong ,again good luck

The factory part comes the same way if you ask for a lock assembly. You got a lock assembly not an actuator. When you get a lock assembly it comes that way you need to switch the actuator over to the new assembly. Take the lock assy back and get an actuator.
