Whipple Supercharger Question

1st post here, long time lurker.

I found a used Whipple s/c to fit my '01 2500HD 8.1L / Allison. My question is, has anyone ran one of these in extreme cold? I live in central Saskatchewan, Canada and we get long stretches of -20F weather in the winter. I've heard conflicting reports on this. I did a search but couldn't find much info.

Any help would be appreciated!

I've never heard of any problems running a supercharger in the winter. You could put a battery warmer on the supercharger before start up to warm the oil. Your best bet would be to call Whipple, I'm sure there's a toll free number on their website.

I would also think the colder air will give you more boost and better performance. I know for a fact with colder IATs my blower puts out more power.

But like said above, make sure your supercharger is warmed up before you start beating on it
