Elevated Idle

I have recently bought a 2005 Sierra HD and it did not come with a manual. I know how to turn the elevated idle on, but I am curious to know if there is any way I could bring the idle up manually or does it automatically do it on it's own.

Does your truck have the steering wheel controls? If so you can use them to turn it on. If not your dealer can do it for you with the Tech 2 if I remember correctly. When it's on, the computer will automatically idle the truck up for you.

The elevated idle on the Dmax only works under certain engine temp conditions.
