Silvy Is Getting Fresh Tranny

Well, took the silvy in for a tranny fluid and filter change this morning......its the one thing I have not done myself due to the drain plug refusing to come out and me refusing to get fluid all over myself and my shop... .......and for the $100 I figure might as well let someone else do it the first time and put a new drain plug in.

They dropped the pan and low and behold the fluid looked like sewage and LOTS of metal filings.........since I dont know the history of the tranny and my silvy has 320,000kms I figured might as well rebuild the tranny.

So later this week I pick her up.......cant wait to feel the difference if there is one at all..........

Are you doing a standard re-build or did you get any shift kits put in at all or any thing with performance in mind? Plus make sure you tell em' to fill it up with either Royal Purple Max ATF or Amsoil ATF

Its pretty much a standard rebuild.......the shop says that any 4L60E they do, they always put the updated solenoids and whatever other components and they also always put a shift kit in to increase fluid flow.

Not quite a week..............it went to the shop on Monday and I should have it back tomorrow, Wednesday.......I think thats pretty good turn around time.........I was expecting a minumum of a full week before I got it back.

I cant wait to get it back...........im really hoping I feel a difference.............I wasnt exeriencing anything abnormal.....although over time you just seem to get used to the way the vehicle is running and think its normal.
