Vibtations

Here the truck; 1987 K5 Blazer with a stock 350, stock 750 r and stock everything else. The problem is over 45 mph. I have excessive vibration and it sounds as if there might be something rubbing. I hear and feel this when I let off the gas and it souns as if it is coming from the rear or center or the truck.

 

I have taken all the carpet and sound dampening out for other reason and the sound is more intense in the rear. I have no clue what it might be.

Do you have a driveshaft support bearing? It is encased in a rubber bushing and if that rubber tears, the shaft will vibrate, transmitting the vibration all over the vehicle.

 

Bad U joints can cause vibration.

 

Poor quality out of round tires can cause vibration too, especially all terrain oversize tires. Unbalanced tires can cause vibration too.
