Factory 20 Inch Wheels

I have been doing some searching on how much they weigh...I came up with a few different answers. Anywhere from 44-47 LBS  Does anybody have any other info, or know anybody that weighed one?

I question this because with a tire on, the package could weigh 75 pounds...that is quite a bit of rotating mass and unsprung weight. GM has come a long way in suspension/brakes to account for this...was just curious.

I should strap on the lightweight ALCOAS from the tahoe with the 265/70r16s...I bet this truck would haul ass off the line and stop a bit shorter

16 inch rims won't fit a NBS truck though.

yeah I know, I was just amazed at the weight. I have played around with wheels over the years and you can make improvements in braking/acceleration and handling with lighter, forged wheels.

Yes, they are very heavy.

Centerline is a light forged wheel. Go to www.centerlinewheels.com and look at their overstock prices. They have polished 20" wheels for our trucks for only $169ea. and chrome for $269 and they weigh approx 20lbs.

Funny you mentioned it. I have a set of Grizzlies being made at the Centerline factory as we speak, I bought them earlier in the week. I am having the triple chrome ones made in a 6 inch, 32mm offset, 20 x 8.5...American made does cost a bit more, but 23 pounds in a 20 inch wheel will be nice!

23lbs for a 20 inch wheel is excellent. Mine weigh about 31lbs (which was better than most). Post some pics when you get them.

I will do that. It will take 3-4 weeks from the factory, they said.

I have had many of them...the last ones were Hellcats on my '97 K2500. I have always gone Centerline or forged ALCOA. My 04 2500hd had Alcoa, and my '01 Tahoe has Alcoa. I havent strayed from these 2 manufacturers so far. Centerline has always been my favorite, since I was a kid putting wheels on my hotrods.
