Gm Navigation "unlock"

Has anyone had any experience with this product? It apparently will disable the system lock that prevents you from operating the Nav system and other features in the radio while the truck is moving. Seems like a pretty cool thing as these "safety" features are really a big pain in the...

Do not get their IPOD adapter IT sucks BIG time, major static you can even hear the hardrive spin over it. I got the PAC audio one and it is great.

I agree; I've heard many, many bad things about the ipod Lockpick. Go with the PAC Audio unit. It works very well, and interfaces nicely with the GMX-320 Lockpick.

I bought a lockpic back in December, I just have not had a chance to install it yet.

How long did it take you guys to install them?

The lockpick install about 50 mins, 40 mins of the getting the d**n wires back in so the radio will fit back in right.

Really it is not bad at all but pushing the wires in there to make the radio fit all the way back.

Took me about 20 minutes to install. Kanima is correct; there's not much room to get the Lockpick hardware back there, and it can be a bit frustrating. That was definitely the most challenging part. Getting the bezel off was a bit tricky as well. It felt like it was going to break. For those unfamiliar with the new GM interiors (especially the "luxury" interior) here's an indication of how good they are: the tolerances are so tight between the interior pieces that I wasn't able to get a small flathead screwdriver in to pry up the faux wood bezel; I had to use a very thin butter knife. GM has come a long way in a short time.

Thanks to all. Your input on the iPod thing confirms much of what I have heard so I will probably go the PAC or SmartPark route for my iPod.

Just a heads up, a great tool for cracking the bezels is either a cell phone case cracker or an electronics chip lifter.

OK, got the GMX-320 Lockpick and the iPAC iPod adapters in and everything works great. Thanks to all for your input.

For the lockpick I ended up cutting out the small horizontal piece behind the climate control buttons and it made a whole lot more space for the harness. I also routed the line for the lockpick box behind the steel tube and up so it could be mounted above the radio. Everything went back in real easy.

For getting the trim off I used a 1.5" putty knife. It's thin enough to get between the bezel and the dash and wide enough to put pressure ove a large area and not crack or chip anything.

Now for the Tellphone 5000vi... Any thoughts?

I've given up on GM releasing the PAL unit, so I continued researching aftermarket iPOD connections for the Yukon. I found the the Peripheral PXAMG. Supposely this unit, unlike the iPAC, Nucleus, and the Peripheral PXDP3, no longer has the 31 artist restriction. I just ordered it tonight and I'll place a review of it once I get it installed.

Supposely this unit, unlike the iPAC, Nucleus, and the Peripheral PXDP3, no longer has the 31 artist restriction. I just ordered it tonight and I'll place a review of it once I get it installed.

Really Dan? That's interesting. I think the limit is actually 27 with my PAC Audio unit, but either way that would be great. I look forward to hearing your impressions.

That thing looks pretty cool. Apparently it also has a USB interface so the firmware can be end-user updated. I like that feature. One thing I did notice is that it connects to the three connectors behind the radio, not to the XM port, so if you have a LockPick also it will make it very difficult to get TWO multi-harnesses behind and/or below the radio.
