New Wheels, Tires, Lift...pics!

Ok, I finally got my truck back from the tire shop. Sorry about the poor pics, first 2 are with my crappy camera phone and the last 2 are terrible because it was dusk and the lighting is way off. I will take some more pics soon. I love the height, it sits perfect!!! Ride is 100% better than the stock Goodyear 275/55R20s. I can no longer tell when I have run over a bug in the road.

Details:

Wheels: 18 x 8.5 Ultra "Lightning"

Tires: 285/65R18 Nitto Terra Grappler

Lift: 2-1/2" Truxxx Level lift in front, 1" in rear.

I do have one question I am hoping someone here can answer for me. The Tire sensors are reading the proper PSI (about 42-45 PSI) and there is NO yellow tire indicator warning light on my dash. However, when I first start the truck, the DIC displays "Check Right Front Tire Pressure" and then scrolls through each tire, telling me to check them. Once I press the info button on the DIC and scroll through them manually, they go off and do not come back on until the next time I start the truck. I am suspecting that my trucks computer thinks my old tires are still on there and the pressure is too high for those tires? I ran those tires about 30-35 PSI, and these tires are running 40-45 PSI. Any ideas?

Oh, and I did beat them up about the cost of the tire sensors and that I should not have needed new ones and they took those off the bill.

Bad.

F**king.

Ass.

Looks great, Jeff. What pic you want sized up for your sig?

You're going to need some wheel well liners in the rear now. Nice how one mod forces another, isn't it?

I was wanting the 20's but now that I see the 18's, I am glad you made that choice. That is just a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L combination. Can't wait to see even better pictures. If you could you should size it up against a stock NBS silverado so I can see how much the leveling kit added.

Once again, a beautiful truck.

Truck looks Great!!!

When I picked up my truck, I had to reset all four tire sensors. The manual explains it well. Start with the drivers side front, passenger front, passenger rear, then drivers side rear last. I added air to the tire to reset the sensors, It seemed to be quicker than letting air out, IMO.

Daddy,

I was going to ask you to make me a cool sig pic, but thought I'd wait until I got some decent pics of it. But in the interim, how about the 2nd one?

Thanks!

Yeah, they did that. Otherwise they wouldn't be reading the proper pressure. Maybe I should do it again? Or maybe those are the old readings from the 325's they took off?

Get your owners manual and reprogram the tire sensors in sequence. I did the same combo and after adding air to one tire I found out that the sensors were mixed up(left front was actually the right rear, etc.). There is a reprogramming sequence in the owners manual, I can't remember how it started but it's simple. Mines on a 2500 so the warning comes on at 60psi but I'm sure the 1500's are different. Hope this helps

Nice looking wheels! I still think the black chrome would have looked better IMO. When I got my tires and wheels mail order I had to try them out with in 30 days. They had a 30 day return policy on them. I put my new tires and wheels on for a few hours and my DIC did on even detect the difference. I even had different sensors in them. I don't know what the deal was that it did not detect a difference. I then put my stock tires and wheels back on and it still did not detect they were changed again. I don't know what to expect when I put the after market wheels back on in the spring. I just hope I don't have to touch a thing. I never delt with the DIC and I hope I never have to. Even after a tire rotation.

Looks frikkin excellent.

Try adding 5 lbs to the tires and setting overnight. Solved a similar issue with my TPMS.
