Got T Boned Today.

Well today, at the intersection, we were making a left turn and the light turned red and we thought the driver of a white GMC pickup would stop but he didn't and smashed right into us. I was the passenger and my friend was driving his car. I looked to my right and saw a big white pickup headed right to my door, I called my friends name and he gave it full throttle, which caused the truck to hit the rear right door, instead of my door (front passenger). I am lucky to be alive.

The GMC Sierra. The guy was very nice to us and asked us if we were alright or needed an ambulance.

Sorry about the wreck, but I'm glad to hear you're both alright. Maybe you can talk your friend into something bigger and more sturdy..? :puke:

Seriously, though.. Glad you're alright .. and that it wasn't your truck. When I first read the subject line, I thought your truck had been nailed.

Ouch!

Glad you both walked away.

Is that one of those side curtain airbags in the car?

Do you think that it helped in this situation?

I didn't really see inside the GMC, but I think the airbag did not deploy because after exchanging information with my friend and the police, he just drove off. And in British Columbia, we have this insurance that covers your car if it gets totaled within 5 years of your purchase. You can only get this if you buy your car fairly new and less than 12000 KM I believe. So if they do total the Maxima, he will get a brand new 08/09 Maxima with almost the identical options.

Yes those are the side curtain airbags. When the truck hit, they deployed right away and hit my glasses as my head whiplashed toward the door. My glasses broke from the impact, but I believe they did save some damage to my head. I also have a seat belt burn on my neck which seems to be swelling more and more.

The image of the Sierra traveling at a fairly high rate coming right towards my door still haunts me. If I did not cause my friend to floor it, god knows what would have happened. I started feeling myself after the slight concussion. I had to see if I was alive or not.

If you have a headache due to a collision such as the one you experienced, you need to go to the hospital. You could have brain swelling and that can cause serious permanent damage. Go get yourself checked out now.

Glad nobody was serioously injured.

Now, with that said, look at the damage to the GMC compared to the Nissan, you still want to sell your truck and buy a car? I didn't think so :puke:

I too am glad you are ok. I would take the advice you have already received here, go get checked out. You do not want issues coming up months down the road from this.
