Chevy Colorado With V8

So I am in the market for a new truck. Something to pull the boat, and drive around town, and hope to get okay gas mileage. I really like the platform of the Chevy Colorado Extended Cab version. Not to big, not to small. I have heard rumors that they will be adding a 5.3L V8 to these trucks for the 2008 model year. The 2008 model trucks should be coming out here real soon, does anyone have anymore input on this...or specs. I'm really interested and hope they come out soon!

According to GMInsideNews.com, no V8 for Colorado until MY 2009.

 

"COLORADO V8 AVAILABILITY RE-TIMED. . .Dealers and the field organization were previously advised the Colorado with V8 would be available in Q1 2008. The 5.3L V8 scheduled for interim 2008MY has been re-timed for 2009MY SORP. Additionally, 16" and 17" chrome-clad wheel availability for interim 2008MY has also been re-timed for 2009MY SORP."

well its a shame that they aren't coming out immediately. I was really looking forward to getting one sooner rather than later. But another couple months will be well worth it if they come out with a 5.3L in an extended cab version with seating in the back, a nicer interior, and the same or similar front clip they have now.
