Help Mirror Question

So last night i am taking my mirrors apart to be painted. While i was splitting the top half from the bottom half three tabs in the center broke. Would it be wise to get a new back top part. The part the is usually replaced with a painted piece. Or could it be fixed another way?? Is it worth spending the money on the new part. Would the fit be tight enought with out those tabs?

Anyone know???? :banghead:

when I was taking one of mine off the same thing happend. I was buying replacement ones anyways so I wasnt worried. I put it back on and had it that way for 2 weeks before I received my new ones and it stayed in place no problem.

i was thinking that it would stay but i wasn't sure. they seem to pretty tight on there. I have know idea how you could get them off with out breaking them. the other mirror i left together so i didn't break them off. I might just see if the body shop can possible glue or use some adhesive to keep them together.
