Got An Estimate On My Front End Today.....holy S#!t!?

I had to have my 07 Silverado serviced today and while I was there I got an estimate on my damaged door and my front end I've been looking at replacing. I been wanting to take my all black front end and replace it with the chrome and body color painted parts. I know I should've done this when I bought the truck but I didn't know it then.

Any way, heres the results of the estimate:

Front bumper chrome.....................$305.23

RT end cap primed w/o fog lamps.....$121.28

LT end cap primed w/o fog lamps.....$121.28

Grille 1/2 Ton chrome.....................$346.11

These are the parts prices alone. Then there's $84.00 for body labor, $104.00 for paint labor, and $60.00 for paint supplies. The total is $1203.92. I was hoping for about half of that but oh well.....sound reasonable?

When I got home today I looked around on eBay and found three different 1/2 ton grille surround pieces between $90-$150. They all say they are brand new and have never been used.

My question is do yall think it's worth it to purchase off of eBay and save several hundred dollars with the risk of not knowing if you'll ever get it? The last time and only time I ever bought off eBay (8+ plus years ago) I ended up sending the money and never recieving my product. These items seem like a steal but I don't want that to happen again.

eBay is cool. There is always a risk of being taken but it's a small risk and like 99 said, there is a lot of buyer protection on eBay. Those grills should be fine. Plus, I don't know of anyone making knock-off Silverado grills.

those are cheap grill replacements, always check the seller rating, feedback and length of time that the seller has been in business

Well if I could find a nice Sierra front bumper for mine I'd sell you the stocker cheap...Has tow hook cutout but no fogs.

You mean inexpensive, correct, or did you mean cheap? I am just wondering because they look legit to me.

It's not a direct answer to your question.

Is there a reason you aren't running a damaged 07 through insurance?

Especially, these days, FWIW, the shops that most insurance companies uses

offer a lifetime (as long as you own) warranty on the repair.
