2003 Cadilliac Escalade Ext Annoying Squeek Noise.

Hi Everyone,

 

I am new to the forum and i am glad to have found such a great site of supporting GM enthusiasts. i have a 2003 cadilliac escalade ext and lately its been giving me this really annoying squeek noise. it starts from 0-40 km and then stops as i reach a higher speed and as accelerating the squeek gets faster untill reach of 40km. also when i pull into my garage at night at slow speeds almost stoping i notice that it sounds like metal from the front end turning. i really notice this noise when accelerating as well going through quiet areas such as underground parking and a drive thru. this noise started about a month ago then stoped for a week and now has began again so, i am not sure if something has to be greased or what is quite going on i know it must be hard to point a finger on one thing without looking at the truck but if anyone has had this problem in the past or know what could be causing it i would greatly appreciate any feedback.

I also notice that the noise is only heard during colder temp. is it possible that the greese and lubricant is just still and having a hard time moving around? in the boots?

i used to own the same vehicle, two months ago before i took delivery of my 08 silverado, had the same thing happen to me, dealership told me it was the clutches in the front end, since these are all wheel drive all the time (bad idea in my opinion) they wear quickly, not unheard of to go out before 75,000 miles. And are not cheap to replace, go hear and do a search, quite a common issue unfortunately. http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/

but who knows could be a brake issue.

if the squeak is rotational I would get the u-joints checked ,if its a constant squeak/squeal,you should either way get it looked at soon
