Equinox Gas Mileage Improvement

I did go thru a search and did not find any useable data. So I am asking to see if anyone has made mods to an Equinox to improve the gas mileage. The Mrs. has an '05 2wd with about 50k on it or so. She gets about 18-19 mpg as it is now, mostly highway driving. She's bugging about getting something better on gas but I'm thinking RE-ENGINEERING THE HELL OUT OF IT!!!!

 

But that is likely out of the question. I have seen a 1-2 mpg out of a CAI on my old truck but did not know if a tune is worth it or not.

 

So, any suggestions are welcome or just accept the facts and keep driving.

Don't drive so fast, but honestly you should trade it in and get the new saturn vue hybrid
