Jvc Deck & Sirius Module

I've got a JVC KD-SH1000 and a sirius connect module that my girlfriend gave me for xmas 06....its been causing problems for some time now where just randomally disconnects from the deck (gives error code Reset 08 -- manual says loose connection) and wont reconnect until i pull out my dash, unplug the connector and plug it back in. I've zip tied wires and even siliconed the connector to the deck and module, but same problem.

 

i bought it into JVC repair shop here and he says he can't find anything wrong with it, and store wont do anything because we didn't buy extended warranty (only thing me or girlfriend ever bought and didn't get ex-warranty i think).

 

anyone have any experiences with these or know what might be causing it? my next step is to cut off connectors and start soldering wires together
