I Need Help

I have a high idle issue due to vacuum problem. It is where the hose from the brake booster plugs into the intake manifold. I cracked the plastic piece of crap, that is, when I put in a camshaft sensor, and tried to move the hose out of my way for easy access. Anyhow, dealer around here can't find, or figure out what I'm talking about. For that matter he nor I know what the piece is called. If any one has an idea, and can tell me how to take it out without doing further damage I would be so greatful. It is a 1999 C2500 5.7 Vortec. vin# 1GBGC24R5XF051113 Thanks for any info. Jeff

Thanx for the reply. I had him print me the diagrams of the top of the motor, but nothing on there looks like the piece I have. I did ask for someone to come out and look at it, but his reply, we're to busy. He told me to take it off and bring it in. So, not that I really want to deal with these people now, I should just turn it counter clockwise a 1/4 turn and it will come out? There is a piece that is part of the manifold that has 3 notches in it, (like the old harmonic balancers did for setting the timining) I am really beginning to miss my 30+ yr old trucks. Thanx again, Jeff

hey guys, I'm still not having any luck here. Is this part aka a check valve? One dealer around here knows exactly what I'm talking about and he called it a nipple. "Don't look like any nipple I've ever played with" He is also the guy who sent me to the other dealer that can't figure out what I'm talking about. Are there any GM Techs out there that might be able to help me out? vin#1GBGC24R5XF01113. Thanx, Jeff

 FINALLY!!!! I found a parts guy who actually knew what I was talking about. He looked it up and printed the page and circled it, and said this what your looking for? I should've gone to them in the first place. Anytime I ever needed anything before I went to them, and they were Johnny on the spot. Anyone in NE Ohio interested in a Chevy dealership that will actually help you, they are Wise Chevrolet on SR 44 in Randolph, Ohio.
