I did the herculiner stuff and it has held up great but as stated before the black has faded to a flat black. I think they sell a clear coat to prevent fading though

I love that avatar. Keeps making me want to ask my Dad for a quarter and put it in the cd slot of my computer, and run over aliens or something.

I just bought some of the Plastikote this weekend to cover an old toolbox and some other random stuff, If you want a really bumpy looking finish you have to roll it on. If you just want a regular less tacky finish it provides a brush. So far (Only 2 days later) it seems pretty nice. I'm sure its its going to be inside it will hold its color longer, but for using around the shop, I highly recomend.

I did the bedrails on my sons truck with a roller, let it tack and laid on some more, it went on pretty thick and bumpy and looks good. The black color has not faded as of yet. i plan on doing the whole bed pretty soon. I haven't tried the HVLP spray method but I heard of good results, if you try it let us know
