Can I Replace The Bcm In My 1999 With A Later Year?

From reading the posts it looks like the BCM on my 1999 NBS cannot be programmed to leave the Automatic Headlights OFF. For 2000 and up there is a simple procedure. Some posts suggest just picking up a newer BCM and swapping it out but others say that cannot be done as they are specific to the VIN and the vehicle may not start.

 

Does anyone know for sure if I can swap my BCM and, if so, what years will work? I want to eliminate the Automatic Headlights as well as the 5mph door lock feature but don't want to lose other functionality.

i 95% sure you cant swap it, but the dealer can reprogram the bcm to remove the auto doorlock feature, and i think if you unplug the light sensor in the dash the auto lights stop working.

I believe you can reprogram the locks yourself, with the remote and owners manual. Mark.
