I have a 93 Suburban with the 350 with TBI. What can do as far as the fuel air mix (if this is even the problem). It seems to be running too rich. When I travel on the highway for a period of time at the same speed and go to accelerate i get a puff of black smoke. Almost seems like its getting too much fuel thats not being burned off. This doesnt happen with normal road driving. Also along with that, if it puffs real bad I get the "service engine soon" light until it clears out, then it turns off. I have tried new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, checked the timing, idle air control valve, air filter, one of the fuel injectors, egr valve was replaced about a year ago. I am at a loss. Could it possibly be the throttle position sensor. Since thats one of the only last things I haven't done. Thanks.

  Hi everyone, looking for some input on an issue I’m having with my truck. It’s a 2016 2500HD Crew Cab LT with the 6.0. A couple of months ago I had the pitman/idler arm and tie-rods replaced at a shop with some good quality parts and then professionally aligned after that. Immediately I noticed that the steering is much tighter/heavier feeling and has zero play of any kind. However the steering will not “return to center” at highway speeds now, for example if I’m going around a slight curve with the wheel turned and I let go of the wheel the truck will continue to turn instead of the wheel re-centering like it used to. It makes it so I’m constantly fighting to keep the truck going straight down the center of the road. I should also note the truck does have the “NV8” electronic steering assist. I’m wondering if I need to have the steering control module re-programmed? Or is it an alignment issue? All of the alignment parameters were in spec from the shop. Maybe someone else has had this issue, I appreciate any feedback, thanks!

  This is a really old post, but here I am in 2026 overhauling my 1999 GMC Sierra. I had an issue where when I started the truck, the oil pressure on the guage would not move for about 3-4 seconds, then it would start rising and stay there. I thought My sensor was clogged since I had done a couple of fuel treatments with Chevron Techrolene and when I dumped the oil and filter, it was totally black with all the carbon the techrolene had removed. SO, I started looking on Amazon for sensors, and discovered that they are suppossed to have a filter in the port. So I purchased a filter which Amazon swore it was for my truck. I got the old sensor out and discovered there was no filter on the port! I thought to myself, well, that's why the sensor got colgged. I attempted to install the filter, but it would not drop down any further than the top of the hole. There was no room to start the sensor into the port with the filter in there. So, I started to do some research with Chatbox, and discovered the early 5.3L sensors had no filter. ALSO, you can tell if your 1999 (or later)?? model year does not require a filter because your existing sensor has only ONE wire. Later models, (those needing a filter) will have THREE wires. Also, The correct Sensor Is a D1818A / 19244505 for single wire sensors. Hope this saves some of you some time and keeps you from having to cuss out Amazon. Even tho they frequently need it.

  I just installed a Gator EFX hard trifold cover and am very happy with it. It does leak though, so be aware.
