Different Model Years

I'm in the market for a used silverado/sierra, I want to get something 2000-2007, 4wd, v8 reg. cab, what are the major differences between the different model years? Are there any years to avoid?

2003 was a major update with lots of electronics upgrades and some slight powertrain changes, but nothing major. That's when the new front ends were introduced. I'd say get as new as you can. I had two 2001 models that were awesome, but the 2000 that my dad had seemed a little sub-par. The regular cabs should be pretty well squeak and creak free since they don't have the 3rd and 4th door, so maybe they stay solid longer than the ext. cabs. You won't be disappointed with whichever year you end up with, so be confident in your purchase!

I know that my '04 has disc brakes on the rear and later on they went back to drums to save money. Good luck!
