Headlight Covers

Anyone know if any clear headlight covers are available yet for the GMT900 trucks,specifically the Chevy's?

I've been checking with my local accessory shop with no luck.

What I've done with my trucks in the past is buy clear ones and run them on the truck,that way the headlight lenses don't get all "sandblasted" and chipped-up from rocks,pebbles,stones,etc.

Plus I'd rather buy a $50 set of covers instead of a $200 headlight if one should get cracked or busted.

Yea,I thought about that actually,It just doesn't seem as durable as plastic covers are but I may have no choice.

they work really good to if you paint them the same color as the body. Then you can add a unique look to your headlight. I did it with my old monte carlo. It looked like it had cat eyes!!!

The only issue with that is the parking light/turn-signals are incorporated into the headlight assembly's,not good for safety if the covers are painted.

I should mention...I can get smoked covers,just not clear ones.

Dude, a couple of layers of duct tape will protect them just fine.

Then again, I just realized that the film (both 3m and tint) might get a bit too hot from the output from the headlight which might cause it to melt through...

Well, okay. I was going to have daddy dig through his archives and locate a Road Warrior image to photoshop it on there for you to admire

I put XPEL Headlight Protection (3M clear Vinyl) , personally I think they work better and last longer.

Plus no one will even know there on there!!

Dirt, Sand, Snow and Salt get behind the plastic covers and make them dirty and hard to clean.

 

Available in these colors: Clear, Blue, Yellow, Smoke.

 

I also put it on the backside of the paint portion of the mirrors, prevent stone and bug chips!
