A Womans Handgun.

I have been having problems with my neighbors' pot head kids. Well not really kids, as they are over the age of 18. They do not live at home with momma, but when they come visit, they're up to no good. I have already had tools go missing, my car vandalized, and I am a victim of ID theft. After my mailbox was stolen, weird coincidence huh... Anyhow, these problems seem to be getting worse. And as druggies usually work, Soon I fear these "kids" will do something stupid to harm my wife, kids or the animals.

My wife is usually alone during the day, sometime with just the kids. I have an assortment of shotguns and a hand gun or two. The problem is, you guessed it, a woman needs a woman's gun. She definitely cannot yeild a shot gun, doesnt like the kick of a Glock .40, and my 38 is my carry all at the house. I wanted to see if what your 'ol lady's shoots or what y'all would recommend. It will have to be small(she has problems handling big things... ), and of course something with little kick; though, I do want something with knock down power. I was thinking This would be perfect.

Thanks,

John

That should do the trick. Damn thieving drug kids anyway.

I hope it doesnt come down to it. I don't feel comfy taking anyone's life.

But it wouldn't hurt my feelings if it did.

a .25 or a .22 caliber would do nicely. Good starter guns for people that are new at it or hate them. A 20 guage would have maximum effect for someone who can't aim

My wife has a Ladysmith 38. I would not go with a 22 or 25. They will get you hurt. A .380 is the smallest I would consider.

Just my opinion,

A 9mm is not that bad. My buddy brought his wife to the range with us and they let her shoot a 9mm Lady Smith. About 30 minutes later she decided she wanted the Model 3913 and they bought it for her. I shot it and it doesn't kick that bad. His wife is about 5' 3" and weighs 125 at the most. It fit good in her hand and she was actually hitting center-mass on the target at 30 feet.

My dad and brother both have Glock 9mm pistols and my sister-in-law has shot them many times without it even phasing here. I've shot them a couple of times and there is very little kick. I'm still surprised that they aren't bb guns with how little kick they seem to have, but for self protection they do pack a punch. I would at least throw it into the mix of options and maybe see if you can test-fire one sometime.

Echoing GatorFan and TTM, I'd say put her onto a 9mm of some sort. Glock, Sig, etc...try to find a range where you can rent a few different flavors and let her put some rounds through them. My wife actually likes shooting my father's Ruger P-89 9mm. Very good guns for the prices, nothing special but dependable.

At the least you should get an Yugoslavian M59/66 SKS with the 22MM grenade launcher. If you are forced to get a pistol you could consider the above listed .50 Desert Eagle or a Smith and Wesson .500 or the Taurus variant.
