Adding Speakers

How do you go about adding speakers where there previously not any installed? Say you have a vehicle with speakers in the dash, and you want to add some more in another location. Is it as simple as running the wiring from the harness to the location you want to install them and them finding a place to mount the speakers and hooking up the wiring?

It seems like it would be.

Thanks. :sigh:

No problem with mine gettin beat up. As long as you put the grilles over them the speakers will never get touched. The better sound quality you get out of a set of components is unbeleivable. I never had components in my vehicles before I got my truck and I will never go without them again.

I just installed 2 pair of Polk DB651's in my 2004 Silverado Crew. I left the stock radio/cassett/CD in and the difference in quality was outstanding. When I took the rear speakers out I noticed they were 8 Ohms and the front ones were 4. The Polks I installed were 4 Ohms. From what I have read this does not appear to be a problem. I was wondering if anyone knew what the impedence or the stock radio/cassette/Cd is in that year silverado, no On-Star? Also I was wondering if anyone knew if the stock radio had an amp out line in case I wanted to add some rear subs/amp? Thanks!
