Resetting The Mileage

If I repalce my display is their a way to set the mileage? My dispaly burnt out awhile ago so I have a ballpark of my mileage. Is their a way to tell exactly how many miles? like an onboard computer or something?

You can retrieve the current mileage with a scan tool. The only way to program the new/replacement cluster is to have it done at the electronic service center.

The mileage is kept in the cluster. It can be pulled from the cluster. Most licensed speedo repair shops can reprogram the new cluster. They need the old cluster to verify the miles. You don't need the truck to do this, just the clusters. Dealerdhips don't do this, they send them out.

Yes, but I haven't been able to do it in truck older than 03.

well i know we get 98 bucks an hour labor... ive never personally done one.. but i see new clusters comin in all the time and gettin reprogrammed.. cause alot of the new clusters suck and stick. i would guess they'd get an hour for it.
