Horrible Noise From Belt Area

Hi there fellow Chevy's.....

 

Recently my Tahoe started to develop a horrible sound which i think i have now pinpointed to the AC pulley and/or tensioner. (i have a seperate belt for the AC)

The noise starts like belt-slip, but then turns to something that sounds like anytime pieces will come flying through the hood.

It only does it on acceleration under load, around 2000-2500 rpm and when parked and revved up....

I hope it's bearings or the tensioner.

 

Does any of this sounds familiar to anyone???? Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I'd try replacing the belt first. I had a nasty (and I mean NASTY) squeak coming from that area and a new a/c belt fixed it. It's probably time for a new one if you haven't changed it yet anyway.
