So far I'm really liking this truck. It's well used, but this will mainly be a weekend toy for me.

It needs tires in the back pretty bad. I don't know how much muck it could make it through as is right now.

It's got the 5.3 with 3.73s and the G80 rear end. It's quite a bit quicker than my 2000 Mazda Millenia 2.5L .

It's got some minor damage in the rear bumper and passenger side rear quarter panel, but I'm not that worried about it. I probably will eventually replace the bumper and fix the paint on the fender flare.

I'm liking the truck. I've got the steering shaft noise, but already ordered the replacement intermediate shaft from gmpartsdirect.

My only concern is I don't have the anit-rotation lock pin, but I'm thinking of taping the steering wheel to the dash when I replace the shaft.

Haha, I like how the picture is from the driver's side and not the passenger side

Just a weekend toy though? Seriously, you couldn't make it into a weekday toy as well?

I'd love to drive it all the time, but I'm still trying to see what MPG I'm looking at. I think its going to be around 15... maybe less with my driving style. I get around 20 with my Millenia with my commute.

Also... it being a weekend toy was my selling point to the wife

You can get 20 out of that truck on the highway if you keep the cruise set at around 60.

I'm not kidding...I got over 21 out of my '02 Z71 ex cab with the same gears and probably 500 lbs more weight (not sure how much all the doodads on an LT plus the ex-cab weigh). And that's with the AC on.

But daily driving around town? Yeah, you'll probably average around 15.

That's pretty reassuring. Next weekend we're going to take it the inlaws about 220 miles round trip. I figure I'll keep it at 65mph or so on the highway and see how it does.

Modifications will come pretty soon hopefully. I'm going to see if I can fit some TSX HID projectors in the housing. I was amazed how easy it is to take the headlights out.

65 should get you 18-19mpg or so...Depending on wind and terrain of course. I achieved my stellar MPG numbers between Dallas and OKC, which -while not quite flat- isn't exactly mountainous or twisty. Cruise at around 62 or so was AGONIZING as well. People do 80 on that stretch of I-35. Took FOREVER too

The damage doesn't look that bad. Plus, your truck looks awesome - those new headlights will be nice too

Thanks everyone.

The truck looks gold in the pics, but its actually a pewter color. It has right at 120K and even had the build sheet in the owners manual.

I'm used to my wifes Accord and my Millenia on the highway buzzing along at 3K+ RPMs at 70mph. It's nice rolling about 2K RPMs in this. Also... low end torque... I had almost forgot about it... lol

I'm very happy with the 5.3... it's truely a beast in this RCSB... I couldn't imagine a 2WD RCSB with it.

My first truck when I was in highschool was a 94 S-10 RCSB with the 4.3 and a 5 speed. I'm definately a little nostalgic with this new one.
