Yeah, it wadded up the panties of a few of the Toyota Fanboys pretty tight. Especially the site "cheerleader" who calls himself "Toyotafanfan". Most of the guys on that site are pretty cool, but there are a few who get all butthurt when someone has an opinion that doesn't involve riding Toyota's nutsack. Dana_15 is probably the best site Admin I have ever seen (other than the ones on this site of course. ).

Personally, I think it is humorous. But......

The "team" has nothing to do with Toyota

The LS2 is an aluminum block, thus lighter than the 5.7 from Toyota.

There isn't much Tundra left on that truck either, in fact all I see is the doors and cab.

No one has ever disputed the LS2 is a great engine, but was this truck ever a complete Tundra? Was the drivetrain trashed in favor of the LS2?

Dana,

Isn't the Tundra's 5.7 also aluminum????

Edit: Yes, the Tundra's 5.7 engine is an all-aluminum block with aluminum heads.

Isn't this team being sponsored by Toyota? I know if it were me sponsoring this team, they would be using my powerplant, especially since it is supposed to be so much better than anything on the market. If the team still wanted to use a non Toyota powerplant, and I didn't like it, I would pull my sponsorship.

Now granted, I don't know all the workings of the terms of sponsorship, but I'm sure they have some kind of contract, and in that contract a clause to remove themselves from the team if anything goes wrong.

Hmm... Lately Ford commercials have made the statement that they "now are equal with Toyota in quality." But apparently Toyota isn't equal with GM in terms of reliability!
