78yo Man Hit By Car

Shows you how the Hispanic population here has respect for for others. I'm surprised no one robbed the man while he was down. I love how the Mexican reconquista is integrating(or taking over) so well here. But hey, I'll just turn my back like the rest. Its all about the jobs we won't do right?

Watch out when crossing the street....Weeeeeeee

I'd round every single one of them up who didn't try to help that guy and throw them in prison... in mexico.

Yeah pretty bad when mexican chiefs of police ask for asylum here.

I must say this honestly doesn't surprise me. It does anger me but doesn't surprise me one bit. America is turning into one of the worst societies in the world, fast. I just hope the old man recovers. And for all those people standing around looking, they could have at least parked their fat asses in the street to block traffic and at least looked like they were doing something.

Maybe the people standing around watch the news too much, and are afraid that they'd get sued for trying to help and not doing a good enough job.

In other news...I got hit by a cab in Panama once...Knocked me about 20 feet. I'd advise against it. That's Wingnut's PSA of the day.

Sued or not, help the man.

I could not believe that not one person rushed to this man. I watched a van roll multiple times not long ago on a Mississippi road and within seconds, there were people all around the van and within 1 minute a guy had entered a back window while the van was on it's side and was behind the lady driver who was pinned in the seat.

OK guys, I'm no EMT (however I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night) but you can't move a person that has possible neck injuries or you may kill them. I saw at least one person with a phone calling 911. how else would the police get there within a minute or two?

I hear what y'all are saying but the guy can not be moved unless by EMT professionals for fear of paralysis if not handled properly. also, there were people there within a few seconds to deter traffic. the first couple of people however didn't appear to do anything. you stop on a busy intersection and you may get hit by another car then you have more than one person hurt.

What IS pathetic is those two other cars who just took off after they hit the gentleman. that's absolute horseshit and they should put them away for a VERY long time if they find them.

It stinks, but coming from personal experience, I can understand why nobody stopped to help.

About 3 months ago we came out of a movie theater in our town. Hopped in the car, and after buckling, we looked up and saw somebody laying on the ground, with several people standing around them. We called 911, but since we weren't looking up we didn't see the car that hit them.

Now from my personal experience. I was waiting to turn left off my neighborhood street one morning on my way to school (this was back in 95'), and while waiting to turn, I saw this car come flying around the corner. The speed limit was 25. They hit a tree 100 yards from my intersection. I pulled over to see if she was ok. She jumped out of the car blaming me for the accident. So I was forced to call the police so that they could see the accident information, and get proof that I did not cause it. After 45 minutes the officer arrived, and got out and she started blaming me for the accident. I let her talk, never interrupting. Afterwards the officer asked me for my version. I said, 25 mph speed limit, she hit a tree 100 yards after the intersection. I'm not sure how I would have caused that. I just pulled over to make sure she was ok. He said, yeah, I agree. Here's a note for your school, this lady is going to get a ticket for wreckless operation, failure to maintain control, and speeding. 3 months later, I get a notice from my insurance company trying to raise my rates since my name was on the accident report. So that took another 6 months of fighting to prove that I was not involved, simply a good Samaritan.

Since that day, I am always hesitant to assist anyone, unless it is an actual emergency because then I at least have Good Samaritan protection laws on my side.

Help him or not. I understand not moving a person to not further his/her injuries, but least go and see if he/she is still alive. There is a way to do that with out touching or the like. For gods sake stop the traffic, so they do not continue to use the man as a speed bump. sheesh

As for the punks in the car. Some 15-16year olds "having fun". Catch them or not, nothing would come out of it. Either they are legal citizens or illegals with no insurance or simply illegals, who would be back on the same streets with in the week. I can't help to think what Texas and California go thru with illegals and traffic accidents every day.

is it me or does it seem like theres a lot of folks turning into sheep. follow the herd

It is. 'Sheeple' do not want to stand up for anything, just go with what the big media tells them. (Just like with oil) Oh, the ones who do, are usually labeled as racist, sexist, ect. I'm usually called an a-hole, because i call it like I see it , so sugar coating.I'm just blunt. hmmm...Maybe I should sue because I was offended and my 'rights' were violated.... :troll:

What going to Panama or getting hit be a cab?

I have had a similar situation. The problem I see is not the a-hole who cant drive and blames some one else, because they cannot accept responsibility. Its the fact you have to "prove" that "you" didnt cause the accident. Not innocent until proven guilty.

oh I hear ya, but we have reports in Dallas all the time of people trying to assist others in a traffic accident only to get hit by some other a-hole not paying attention. it happens ALL the time.

The article that I read about it said that the cop was on his way to a different, unrelated call and happened to come across this guy. He wasn't there because someone called.

edit... Nevermind. I just read the revised article, and it says that 4 people called 911 within a minute of it happening.

Since gas prices suck a big one I've been driving like an old man lately, usually the exact speed limit. Driving 65mph on the highway I see lots of idiots doing dumb shit while driving as they pass me, ESPECIALLY WOMEN. If their not on the phone it's a damn miracle. I saw a true winner yesterday on the way to class. In the mirror I saw this girl was swerving left to right. When she passed me sure enough, she wasn't talking on her phone, she was texting!! She'd look at her phone for a few seconds, then glance up, look at the phone, repeat. I hit the brakes so this tard didn't swerve in my lane and hit me. I see so many women who simply fail at driving it's ridiculous. I know plenty of men who can't drive, but I know and see 5x the amount of women. Really, in the past few weeks I've noticed some stuff. Lots of people are driving slower, which is good. And lots of people can't drive like they have a functional brain. Yesterday on the way to get food, a few hours before Ms. Text passed me, I was driving through a green light. People facing me in the left hand turn lane getting on the high way. I could have sworn I was going to drill this minivan, driven by a woman...talking on her phone; she cut me off. This soccer mom c*nt had the guts to SLOW DOWN, look at me like I'm the one messing up, and throw up her only free hand (since the other was holding a phone), which was great because she was turning left like mentioned and she almost went off the road.

Yeah here, we get to dodge the Indians who live on the res's without insurance. Our insurance is actually higher because of our proximity to the reservation here in Wyoming. *sigh*

From my experience, reservations have turned into drug centers. Most reservations are centers for manufacturing and/or selling of drugs now adays. Problem is all the way to the top. Look at recent drug busts for the reservations and the leaders of the tribe are usually involved. That says a lot. Do away with them & give the police the ability to pursue and arrest them.

For those of you who wish that I be PC, please replace Indian with Native American.

    • Looking for help!   2019 GMC Sierra 1500 - 5.3l 4x4 8l90 61k miles - truck is in Arizona, was over 110 outside on Monday when this whole situation transpired. Never had any major issues with transmission until this point:   Truck sat outside my construction office for approx 1 hour idling before I realized, ran around the job site wrapping some things up for the day and then left. Went to get food and sat in the drive through for approx 30 minutes idling. As soon as I pull out of the drive through and onto the main road, rear tires lock up and feels like transmission fell out of the truck. Shifted to park, shut the truck off and tried again, same thing happened. Was able to reverse into parking lot (truck slammed into reverse). Let the truck sit turned off for 10 minutes before trying again, but it continued to happen. Towed truck back to my house. Highest the trans temps reached was 198.   Friday, after work I start looking into the situation. Truck sat in my driveway untouched all week. Truck is now driving like normal, transmission doesn’t get over 185 degrees when trying to heat it up. Got up to 60 multiples times with no issues, no issues accelerating, only down shifted hard into first one time at 185 degrees. Does anyone have any insight? Never through a code or a check engine light. Truck has never been used to tow either. No transmission services at this point.
    • Atlas won.   I know better, but I did it anyway. I took a compressed air line with a chuck and rubber tip and jammed it in the open EGR port. The port was clear as far as I could see, and as far as I could poke with a flexible wire, but that doesn't mean it's not clogged.   Compressed air blew back at me along with a cloud of black. Oops. I didn't have the rubber tip seated in there all the way. Jammed it up in there some more and squeezed the chuck. PSI was set to 120. Poof! It blew back at me again. Third time...pfffffttssssssspffffffsssfffffff, face full of carbon, and then, kind of a thud..and the air stopped spraying back at me. It was now exiting the exhaust with a low shhhhhh sound as it flowed through the pipe. Something broke free. I pressurized the port again, and air flowed.   Made my day.   Long story short on this problem, it's fixed. Something was really blocking the EGR passages down low, and compressed air blew it apart. I don't recommend this as who knows what debris was sent where. But it's allowed me to move forward, mentally, and onto the next problems I need to get this little S-Blazer going down the road properly again.
    • Your truck lowered, looks good. I'm happy with the stance on this. I may need the extra ground clearance given my location/situation.
    • With this new pan, do you still use the same procedure to check the level? Its a deeper pan and our trucks do not have a fill tube/dipstick. So fill till fluid runs out the check plug?
