Leveling Kit For 06 Silverado

I have an 06 Siverado CC 4x4 which I am thinking about leveling/lifting with a Truxx kit. The kit will lift the front about 2 inches and the rear 1 inch. Does anyone have this installed on their 99-06? Found several NBS on here with leveling kits but not much luck with finding a 99-06 model. Pics and info on how you like the system will be appreciated. Thanks!!

Alan300, truck looks sweet. Is it truely level without the block in the rear? My truck does not seem to sit down too much in the front espically compared to the 07-08's. Those wheels are sweet. What size?

My questions/concerns are this.....does it affect the ride? does it make the truck sag in the rear when towing or hauling? does it void the warranty in any type of way? any adverse affects? any info is welcome. Thanks!!

I Put ProComp torsion keys in my truck, which is the same as yours, they lifted it almost 2.5 inches in the front and the add a leaf should lift the rear an inch and a half. The downside is the torsion keys make it ride really stiff and you need to get an alignment. This is the only pic I have and that is not me in the picture.

Stiff ride huh? Not good. I know it is a truck but I love the nice ride! Im having other issues with it so I might kick it sometime soon.

Hey jtruck - Thanks!

It's pretty close to level, the front is probably a tad higher but nearly unnoticeable. Although, i'll probably add the block soon anyway. The wheels are ProComp 18". I went with 1" bigger than the stock wheels just for the heck of it.

Does it affect the ride. It wouldn't have if I would have not turn the torsion bolts more than required. But, I bought 33" tires so a few extra turns were required to keep from rubbing. If you went with 32 or 31s, you could probably get away with not lifting and having the exact same ride.

As for towing or hauling, i'm not sure as I've yet to pull or tow anything since installing. Sorry. Not 100% sure on the warranty, but mine is already out so it didn't matter.

So far I like it. I actually wish it would have lifted it a bit higher by a an inch or two, but what do you expect for a few hundred bucks.

used Hill torsion keys on 05 z71 very easy to install,but the ride quality changed due to the lack of contact on the rubber snubbers.Working on fabricating own spacer to reinstate contact on snubber this should put factory ride quality back and take stress away from bars and shocks. Let you know how it works out if interested. BTW the keys were 100.00 and they look real close to OEM this mod is very overated as far as difficulty in installationmost shops around my area get 250.00 installed and it took me less yhan 20 minutes to do it myself. adios!

What tools are needed to do the install yourself? also do you have a link for the $100 keys?

There is a service tool manufactured by OTC that allows you to preload the key for removal and installation, It runs about 165.00 not worth buying if you only use it once, with a little tech savvy you should be able to use a 2 jaw puller and load the key sufficently to do the job, just remember to lubricate the tool and contact surfaces to reduce friction. Also due to time constraints I went to the local aftermkt shop here and he had the Hill brand keys for 100.00 I found the same keys for 109.00 or so on ebay new.This job does require you to support your truck before you remove the keys to release most of the stress on the bars. Then you will probably want to either get new shocks or fab a spacer for the rubber snubbers I mentioned before, or both. Be sure to measure the amount of preload on the snubber if any and try to return it with a spacer.This will help a little with the ride quality thus not requiring the bar to be so rigid and so on. I hope some of this rambling helps in some way. Good luck -rob

Thanks for the info.......I will probably stay with the same size tires for now. I dropped nearly 900 bucks on some BFG AT's about 18k ago. Just want a bit taller stance like the Dodge's and Ford's.
