Fog Lights

I have an 08 and I was wondering if you could have the fog lights come on automatically?

You can. Use the advanced search feature when you have some time and you'll find exactly how to do this.

Daddy,

Humor me, please, and tell me what you can put in for search terms to get that thread in a reasonable number of results. I've searched for this several times myself, and i either get nothing because i was too specific, or 23 pages of results, which is not a reasonable amount to look through every post to see if it has the info.

(actually, the one search taht doesn't fall into that is searching for "NBS fog light". That gives 9 results, none of which have the info)

thanks!

bah, it's way too easy to just tell someone to search rather than to actually show them the thread it's discussed in.......................no offense Daddy. but c'mon. help a dude out.

Here's one thread where it's discussed middle way to the end. I'm not sure if that's the thread daddy is talking about though.

I've posted links to many helpful threads but I also don't feel it is my responsibility to perform the searches for every single guy who asks a question. I'm not trying to be a prick, just pointing out that this info is out there and can be found. Yes, sometimes it takes a little work but I think asking the person with the question to do a little work too is completely fair.

Do you have any idea how many ridiculous threads I have seen that contain one question and 47 bumps??? If a guy will take the time to look around for the answers, most of the time it will yield results much faster than waiting on guys to answer the same thing again.

I have links in my sig to a lot of my major mods and still guys will PM me and ask me how I did this or how I did that. I understand this is a place for sharing and helping and I think I do plenty of that but I also believe that informing a new guy that the information is available is fair as well. I don't know the EXACT answer to the question so rather than me spending 20 minutes looking, I thought I would tell him to give it a shot.

I'd be very curious to know the number of accounts on this site that have been created, one question asked, and then left to die once a guy got his answer.

The search feature does suck, even on the rare occasions when it works.

Perhaps this is the disconnect. I never have a problem with it. I used the advanced features and craft my searches as well as I can and I usually find what I am looking for.

The standard search does blow but you'll notice that I try to always say "Advanced Search".

point taken, but that search didn't take you 20 minutes. :rollin: my point was just to show the guy the thread. if the search works so well for you, just maybe tell him to search in the future and then show him the thread.

it's all good. good info you posted. didn't mean to bust your chops.

We're definitely cool, I was never upset.

My point was...search. It works and it's there for a reason. If you get stuck, ask, then I'll lend a hand but to ask me to do the work for someone else when they haven't even attempted it themselves just isn't going to happen. I see both sides of the argument, really, I just disagree.

EDIT: One thing that has gotten lost here is how my comments may be taken by the OP. OP, I am sorry if it seems as though I am singling you out. That was not my intention and I hope you stay around and are a productive member for a long time to come. I am more venting about situations that have happened repeatedly in the past. Please don't take offense. If you do, just call me an a**hole real fast and get it over with!

A**hole. Oh wait, you were talking to the OP. My bad.
