Blower Problems?

So whenever I turn on my A/C or heat, I can hear a sound that gets louder as I turn the air on faster and faster. It used to be unnoticable but now whenever I need to turn up the air, it is a constant obnoxious - decently loud - whirring sound. It sounds like it is coming from right above where my passenger's feet go in the front seat. I have pretty basic mechanical and electrical skills, is this a do-it-yourself thing or should I have a mechanic take a look?

Oh, and I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe.

Thats where the blower motor is. If I,m not mistaken 3 7mm screws hold in place. remove them. Oh yeah, there may or may not be a black cover attached to the HVAC module that you have to take of first, 7mm also.

Remove wiring plug. there just may be some debris in there. If not , with motor in hand plug connector back and turn on fan. See where that gets you.

Oh yeah. there are two wire connector plugs

It could be a bad motor BUT it might just be full of leaves. Pul it out and have a look.
