Ford Owners Rant

Alright I know I am new to the whole online world and forum thing but hey I am a fast learner. Anyway, I am also on another forum called www.thedieselgarage.com under the same user name. Now for those of you that know me, know that I cant say no to anyone who asks me for help. I dont care what they drive or who they are or if they have ever pissed me off. If they need help (I mean really need help, not hey can I get 5 bucks for a pack of smokes) and they ask me (within reason) I will never say no. So this guy on the other site who bought a brand new 08' F-350 posts a question about proper break in procedures because he is new to diesel trucks. I give him my answer and this @$$clown (who didnt have anything good to say other then make fun of me) starts giving me crap because I'm a Chevy guy. Now yes, I am a GM fan through and through. But I love engines and I know diesel engines. I have worked on engines of most manufacturers from Cummins to International to John Deere to Chevrolets and I know there strengths and weaknesses. Is this guy just mad a Chevy guy had good advice? Or is he so territorial hes just blindly stupid? I dont get it. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your truck or a supporter of your favorite brand. But when you start stomping on other people simply because of what they like, you just prove to the world your a lump of $hit. So then I start thinking. This happens to me a lot, and 99% of the time the truck owner who is being a punk is a Ford owner. Anyone else notice this in their travels? Or is this just me pissed off and venting because some jerk gave me a hard time for trying to help. Wow I need a beer after typing all that! :idiot:

It is a combination of the two. I will admit, I am very brand loyal (well, I'll only get GM really) but if you have something and it works for you, I'm not going to (seriously) bash you just because of that. I may make fun of your ricer, but if it is something you drive and you like it, like my aunt used to say "If you like it, I love it."

I have no problem with anyone driving any particular brand of vehicle, my problem is when someone blindly makes a decision based upon what is force fed to them (the whole foreign quality is better than domestic).

Now I'm ranting and getting way off topic, so I'll sum it. I don't mind people driving what works for them. My problem is when you don't do your own research, and make formulate your own opinions and ideas.

EDIT: Darn. Why didn't you post this before the posts got pulled? Grrr! :nono:

+1. Yep, I completely agree. Well, my Aunt never says that, but it still applies. :nono:

I just went and checked. I got there and read this. I don't own a diesel, nor do I know enough to help someone with a problem. I'm just a shade tree mechanic watcher. :bs:

I work at a ford dealership and I am the only mechanic there that even drives a ford vehicle. With that being said, I have removed some off topic posts and very uncalled for posts. If this happens again someone will be getting a free vacation.

But honestly, don't let people like that get to you. There are a-holes everywhere you go. It just so happens they get much bigger on the internet.

Yea the admin warned the guy and he started making fun of the admin. What an idiot. Oh well. He got banned and I got to go back. You are right though. I shouldnt let them get to me. But like I have said before, I cant stand idiots.

Sounds like he's jealous of the Duramax (with good reason), or just the average retard. :idiot:

He's probably mad Ford's diesel trucks have been a joke ever since they ditched the 7.3.

+1 Yeah, DV has a good point. The red X is just a subtle way of showing them the door on the internet, like "Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya". Here's another brew on the house. :bs:
