Well the dodge must have had a blown turbo then, there is no reason why he couldnt have handed it to you. Maybe at 5.00 a gallon he didnt want to get on it.

Haha, yeah tell me about it, ive been driving my dads lbz duramax sierra 2500 for 2 weeks now for parts pickup, and even though it gets 15 city, damn it hurts to fill it up. 100+ fillups easy.

I have a 07 new body sierra and I have destroyed every diesel I've ever raced with the exeption of a tuned duramax when I was stock with the truck full of people, but since I broke in the 14's I have killed two 7.3 tuned power strokes and a 5.9 diesel keep in mind I'm a 2wd shortie that can run a 14.7

Actually, they are pretty fast with minimal upgrades. My brother has an '05 Cummins HD and he added a CAI, exhaust, and a pretty pricey tune and he took it to the drag strip on "diesel day" and did 0-60 faster than a Mustang GT... and that was on 35" All-terrains.
