General Grabber At2

Just got some new rubber for the ol pile. I got the General Grabber AT2 in 265/75R16. So far I love them, they are like the poor man's BFgoodrich All terrains lol. Has anyone else had these tires? How long did they last you? I do realize this would of been a hell of a lot smarter to do before but just wondering?

My dad had General Grabbers on his F250, and they might have lasted 15000 miles, granted that was back in 2001, and they werent A/Ts, maybe General Tire came a ways since then.

O alright then, My first impression when I saw them was that they looked aggressive but as soon as I hand inspected them I started worrying becasue they seem like a very, very soft compound tire. THanks

Thats along the lines of what was on the truck. Yeah i talked to my grandfather who just bought a set of general tires and hes not too happy with the tread wear. Also those were 15000 pretty easy miles with maybe 500 winter towing with 7000 lbs (trailer 6 snowmobiles, gear, people) No wheel spins and hard accels. Seem to be very very soft compound which is good and bad. Hard you slide around when wet, soft wear quickly. ALl really depends on what you expect out of it.

I use to have those simlar tires on my 90 ford full size bronco.

They worked pretty good, I was able to get around in 5 ft snow from a rare blizzard here.

I think they lasted about 30,000 or so....been a long time since I used thoose tires.

Don't those tires have a 60K mile warranty?

 

If they wear out quick, take them back to the dealer where you got them and make a warranty claim. I did that with a set of BFGoodrich Traction T/A's I had on my old Focus. They lasted 17K miles and had a 70K mile warranty. I bought them on sale and when I went back they pro-rated them at the current price and I got almost 80% of the original cost back.

Well does the warranty cover excessive burnouts? My tires have about 25-30 percent tread left and are hard now, and were on for about 8000-9000 miles. I have Firestone Destination A/Ts.

Also the many burnouts where in the beginning of the tire life when I was stupid and thought that was funny. You couldnt tell now that I did any other then the lack of tread.

I have a set and love them. There on a 2005 4x4 crew cab and have lasted 50,000. There on my son's 2000 pick up now for there was plenty of tread left when I traded off the 05. Other than a little louder on the highway they are a great tire at a good price. When the tires wear out on my new truck I will look into these again.

i had those tires for about 3 months and i didnt like them.... the tred wore down fast as hell... i went and got Coop discoverer s/tc... (c is side wal cut resistant) and those are great tires...
