Not really a "problem".

You can't turn off the fan on a GM product. Even with everything off, the fan runs and pulls in air from outside as part of the ventilation system. I believe this air comes out of the heater / defroster ducts if everything is off. If it's hot outside, that air will be hot... cold / cold / etc.

Hmmm....thats interesting. Its frustrating because I almost have to turn the a/c on when I dont want to but the blowing heat is too much. thanx for your reply.

I understand. Don't know where you are but down here we run AC on max 10 months a year so it isn't a real problem.

Yeah, the AC is pretty much always on and set to "Auto" year round. The only time I turn it off is if the windows are down, which isn't very often. And certainly not during the 100+ degree temps we see all summer long!

As others have said, it is normal for outside air to flow through when the AC is off, just not sure if it's normal for it to flow through the defrost vents or not. The last time I turned the AC off was during the winter time and I only noticed cool air through the main vents. I don't know what the "default" state the actuator goes to when you turn it off though. Maybe check with the dealer?

I'm from Chicago, Il and sometimes its not hot enough to turn on a/c but I think I've located the source. It seems to be coming from the sunroof. When I close the sliding lid or open the roof all the way it not as noticeable. seems like hot outside air is seeping in somehow. I guess the the only way I'm going to get to the bottom of it is let the dealer drive it. It probably is normal. thanx guys, your input was appreciated.

I've noticed this on my sunroof, too. I just always assumed the heat was "radiating" in, though, since I don't hear / feel any sort of a leak when the sunroof shade is closed. Let us know what you find out...

Turn your recirculation switch on if you wanna stop this. Otherwise you can control the temp by your a/c thermostat but if it is really hot outside dont expect alot of cool air.
