Locked Gm Xm Module

Can these be unlock ??????? I installed one out of a salvage vehicle and the radio says "LOCKED" when I try access XM...... The radio itself is not locked it just does it when I try to get XM......

I beleive that it can be unlocked but it has to be done at the dealer. The radio has a code and the truck have a code in the bcm (body controll module-comouter) stored. they must match. if they dont you get this problem. its part of the anti-theft system. you steal the raido and install it in a new car it would not work. Call the local dealer and they should be able to tell you how much it would cost to reprogram the modules.

 

The other thing is that the xm-radio must be authourized by xm to get programming. You will need to call xm with the radio id got get it authorized to get the xm programming.

 

That is the only two things that I can think of that could be your problem.
