01BlackZ71 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I have a 2004 Silverado HD with Bose, XM, and Onstar. I just got an Ipod and the fm transmitter works ok but frustrates me. All I want is a cable coming out of the dash somewhere to plug into my ipod. Not concerned that much with charging it, just instead of headphones I plug it into my radio. My friends 07 has one of these plugs built in, but surely I can wire one to the back of the radio and bring it out somewhere that doesn't look too ghetto. Thanks
2000DV4.8 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Get the Peripheral iSimple. I have it, and it works great. Comes with a mount too. Do a search, you'll find some threads on it.

WaynesNside Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I have that one too and love it. No mount though, I keep my iPOD stashed in the dash. Having access to over 3500 songs is real nice. PXAMG (with harness) is what I have.
geektoad Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 another vote for the iSimple. Mine's a GMT-900. I used to use an Fm transmitter in my TJ. going from FM to direct connect is like night and day.

Even going from my truck with the iSimple to my mom's car that has the tape deck adapter is a huge difference. There's just no beating it for the price IMO.
01BlackZ71 Posted August 22, 2008 Author Posted August 22, 2008 Are you guys talking about the isimple that is $150 from best buy? Is there anything or any way I could just plug in a miniRCA to RCA plug? I would control everything over the ipod itself, and not need to worry about charging it. $150 seems like a lot more than I want to spend for the minimal hookup I want/need. But thanks!

Yeah that's the one, bro it's nice. The sound is good and the interface has plugs so you can connect another audio acessory also. So you can actually have the iPOD and another source.
