2003 Silverado Problem Steering Left.

I have a 2003 Silverado ext. cab 4wd. I have a problem steering the truck left . When turning right its fine but when turning left it feels as if there is no power steering. It dosent make any weird noises but when stopped it just dosent turn. It does seem to turn easier when you give it gas or driving, but when parking its bad. Can you help me to figure out this problem? Is it something I can fix or will it take a dealer. Thanks in advance

Without knowing what kind of system you have I will assume it is not a rack and pinion style. I've had this happen a couple of times. One time I was able to get a spool valve and that fixed it but the other times only a complete gear was available. This isn't too terribly difficult but it's not exactly a snap either. It's also probably a bit expensive for a guess, the only way to know for sure is with a pressure test.
