Went by the local tint shop and asked if they had any solid black vinyl laying around. Guy said hell yea got plenty and gave me a 1'x3' sheet for $5. It's about enough to do 5 bowties.

Just cut a rectangle section just large enough to cover the entire emblem and then took a razor blade around the groove where the emblem lays into the grill. Then took a credit card and smoothed the edges down into the groove. Took about 5min total.

For anyone doing this for the first time (or anytime), I recommend spraying some windex on the emblem first then lay the vinyl over it. Then use a credit card coverd in a paper towel (so not to scratch) to smooth it out and squeege the windex out from underneath. This will help with air bubbles and wrinkles.

Here is my finished product...

haha yea deffinetly will, already put a layer of wax over it.

Yea it was so easy and cheap. If it gets beat up or anything like that, I got enough for about 5 more. A lot cheaper then painting it. :wtf:

Looks great! Anybody who uses the Windex method, make sure to use ammonia free Windex. The ammonia breaks down the adhesive. :wtf:
