Making A Cat Back?

I'm going to have my local shop make a cat back. What size pipe should I use? I don't think anyone around here does mandrel bends so it will be crush bent. I don't want to lose low end torque if possible. I will probably go with a magnaflow muffler. I also am not sure about single or dual. Performance for towing is my goal. I have the 5.3l and undesirable gearing for towing (3.42). Headers might be an option too.

Most here use 3 inch inlets and 2.5 inch outlets (if using dual outlets that is) Otherwise, 3 inch all the way on a single outlet system seems to work fine.

^^^^^What he said. Unless you've got a built race engine, chances are you're never going to notice the difference between a mandrel bend and a crush bend. If they use a crinkle bend I'd object but otherwise a crush bend will still be fine. If you still want a mandrel system, universal bends can be had cheap enough from Summit, Jegs, or eBay.
