Steering Shaft Knock

My truck over the past few days has developed the steering shaft knock. I searched and found tons of threads from 03-07 about it but I have another question. If I don't take it in and let them fiddle with it, will there be any consequences? I don't really have the time or means right now to drop the truck off for the day and still make it to classes and work. Are they actually going to replace anything or will they just lube it up (just so it doesn't rattle) and leave it be until my warranty runs out next year?

I don't think it will "hurt" anything to let it slide for a while. I'd get it done before time runs out though.

Yep,Won't hurt anything but get it changed when you can.

They will replace it with a new design,The lube kit for the trucks has been discontinued from GM and is no longer the recommended fix.

Fantastic. I'll try to make a service appointment after my last class this Friday but was just curious that if I can't get to it for a few weeks if I was going to cause any harm. Thanks for the replies, fellas.
