i have a 98 chevy k1500 with a 305 vortec motor,i want to put in a 350 vortec.does anyone know what changes have to be made regarding computer stuff or will it run with the 305 computer.

Yes, it will run. But rough. For best results you need to change to a larger injectors (21 lb-hrs) and get the computer reflashed for the 350 and you should be good.

You should look into the HT383E crate engine, it's a direct replacement for the L31 5.7L like what you're looking for. It uses the 5.7L's intake manifold, wiring harness, fuel injection system, and computer.
