Well I gotta say that I had a very good week and its not even my birthday. Got the new truck yesterday, played a round of golf this morning then came home and washed and clay bar the new ride. Not even 24 hours old and already had to was it up. Dealer did a pi55 poor job. I cant get much better.

Got one question do you need to wax after doing the claybar? It seems the dealer did wax the truck yesterday.

Oh and to all you debadgers I started slowly by removing the 4x4 stickers on the bed.

And as promised here are a few pics.

Good looking truck.

Depending on what lubricant you used with the clay bar. The clay bar itself won't strip the wax off.

If it were me, I'd strip off what ever wax the dealer used and use a good wax like Meguiars or Zaino.

Awesome truck, congrats. And good job taking off the stickers, you're part of the way there. :D

Got anything else planned for her?

Really? I was always under the impression that the clay bar took off the wax. That's good to know.

Very nice!!! :jester:

Keep going with the debadging...at the very least, lose the gay little GM chiclets.

how do you go about removing the bigger emblems? i wanna remove the flex fuel thing on the tailgate and maybe the "chiclets"

I used the Meguiar's claybar with the quick detailer as the lubricant. Also how do you store the clay? Does it last a while?

Heat with a hairdryer, peel 'em off, rub the rest of the double-sided tape off with your thumbs, and hit it with some bug & tar remover to get rid of any left over adhesive.

And I don't know if I've asked you this before, but where are you in Jersey?

Nice look!! :jester::lol: I don't know what's taken me so long to get this done. Maybe this weekend, it's supposed to be nice.

I use a 6 inch steel scale (it's about .030" thick x 1/2" wide) and 3M Adhesive Remover. I spray the metal above the badge and let it run down into the adhesive and let it sit for a few minutes. I then very carefully shove the scale behind the badge (between the badge and the foam adhesive, so as not to touch/scratch the paint). I do this until I can pull the badge off with my fingers. When the badge comes off, the foam and adhesive will still be there. Then comes the hard part. I soak it in more 3M A/R and wait.....Then use your fingernails and thumbs to remove the foam. Once the foam is off, the adhesive residue will wipe off easily with a rag soaked in 3m A/R.

I did my entire tailgate in about 30 minutes. And yes, my thumbs were sore.

Yes, using a steel scale takes balls, but I have debadged my last truck and this one without one single nick or scratch.

Here is my "collection":

Mine is just the opposite (see sig pic). I looked for a way to adjust it when I had the grill off, but couldn't find anything to adjust?

It looks like the bumper may just need to be aligned. I don't know if the white bumper cap is attached to the bumper, or the bottom of the grille though... :jester:

And damn, you're waaaaay up north.
