tranny od reprogramming

I have heard of guys here getting their tranny reprogrammed so the shift into od happens at like 52 or so mph. My dealer has no clue about this,  I can't believe it is that uncommon, especially in the hills where I live. Is it a bulletin, or a flash on the computer, somebody , anybody can you give some help here?? thanks in advance.

I had the same problem as my 5.3 would lock up at 40mph inder moderate to easy load.  Just had a shift kit put in last week and it wasn't from GM.  Now locks up right around 50mph in the same loads. The tranny shop told me that the kit he was installing was programmable and to report back to him if I needed anything changed.  He mentioned that I couldn't do this with a factory setup.
